QuickOPC, older Delphi versions

Dear Sirs,

We try to make our QuickOPC product’s API consumable by the widest range of tools, including Delphi. We do not target Delphi specifically, though. Instead, we provide a COM interface to our objects (in addiition to .NET). This can then be used by any OLE Automation-compatible programming tool or language.

The Delphi versions we tested with always required "importing" a type library (or more type libraries) into Delphi first, creating unit/units from them. Different versions of Delphi create a different source code of the units. Given the number of Delphi versions. we are shipping the pre-imported units just for one version, and advise the used to re-import the type libraries if they use a different (newer) version.

If the older version of Delphi also works this way, you should simply be able to re-import the type libraries into it. The general outline of the process is described here: opclabs.doc-that.com/files/onlinedocs/QuickOpc/2016.2/User%2...20Libraries%20to%20Delphi.html .

Please let me know whether this works for you - and if not, what kind of issue(s) you have encountered. I will try to resolve them then.

Best regards

Subject: QuickOPC, older Delphi versions

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

we are interested in your QuickOPC product.

Our goal is to connect our ERP to an OPC UA Server and exchange production data with this server.

We downloaded a trial version of your Quick OPC product, but the COM examples did neither compile with Delphi 5 nor with Delphi 2010.

Is there any chance to use your QuickOPC product with this rather old Delphi versions?

If this is possible we need an advice how to accomplish this task.

If this is not possible, what is the minimum Delphi version to use your QuickOPC product?

Many thanks in advance for an answer.
