I am sorry but I do not understand the question. Do you need to connect using just procedural programming model (API) and it does not work? If so, what are the sypmtoms? Or are you asking for a method to *check* (using API) when the server is available and connected?

I need code that will show an OPC server is alive and cannot connect using the OPC DA client (SISCO AXS4 server). I can however connect using Dabinder in a winform and was wondering if there is a way to do this with Code.. I just need to either check the server is available or check a tag. I have browsed the forum and have found serveral post where people have had issues with the AXS4 server if anyone has found an alternate way of connecting to this it would be appreaciated.
