Hello.

What you suggest might be possible, but it is not especially easy to do either, plus it is completely wrong in terms of UA security (each application instance is required to use a unique certificate).

What is preventing you from doing it the "right" way? Unless configured differently, QuickOPC creates its own self-signed certificate, and uses it. It is then usually required to make the server trust this certificate, and there should be some configuration on the server side to do it. Have you tried that?

Best regards

Subject: certificate problem

hello zbynek,
[...]

on a special detail, i have a question :

some students are working on a project, which will establish
opc-communication between a simatic s7-1500 and a pc with easy-opc client.
to realise the full security-options, nessecary for certificate
handling, our software skills are too weak.

is it possible, to get the certificate needed by connecting a
graphical opc-client to the plc, and then copy the given certificate from the
storage of this client to the place, where easy-opc needs it to
establish communication ?

thank a lot for your efforts, r.
